Paula is a soft apple. It doesn't have that nice snap we want in a good eating apple, but it is tasty. It is not overpoweringly sweet or tart, but does fall on the tart side. Paula would make a nice apple sauce or barbecue, but would be terrible in a pie, because it would get too soft. It's also super-cute, and I really, really hope it's
